Hi Pat, I came across one on eBay that looked like mine, but the listing mentioned "raised s" and I didn't know what that meant. Are there 2 types of this embossment? I tried to find info on stamp smarter, and by searching here but no dice. Thanks!
A cancellation bar will often obscure the "S". It then becomes difficult to know which one you have. In this case you can use two other differences in Die 155 (U525) and 156 (U525a):
1. The horizontal baselines of the "2"'s in the circles are squared off at the right ends of Die 155. For Die 156, they are pointed.
2. The top half of the vertical line thru the right 2 cent mark is stubby on Die 156. On Die 155 it is tall as with the rest of the dies in this set.
