Hi, I just received my first stockbook from Lighthouse. I'm impressed with the quality, however I had a question about how to best insert the stamps under the strip. I've done a few by lifting the plastic with the corner of an envelope, but was wondering how you collectors go about it. I'm afraid of crimping the perfs, as the strip is tightly against the card stock. Thanks, Stephen
For the first stamp in a row I usually use pointed stamp tongs to lift the strip in order to insert the stamp with another pair of tongs. After that there usually is enough space to insert the next stamp directly.
A common issue. I do what the other posters suggest or lightly bend the page towards me which relieves the tension of the strip and allows easy placement. On a side note, the better stockbooks such as Lighthouse have "polished" strip edges so that you are less likely to catch stamp on it if you are gentle in placement.
