Was able to pick up this piece at a recent stamp show and will enjoy serving as its custodian until I pass it along to my grandson.

There are covers made with a special cancel for the transit of the North Pole:

They're pretty scarce and therefore pricey.

Is there something I am not seeing? What does a Lincoln-Douglas Debates commemorative stamp have to do with either the USS Nautilus or Commander Anderson? I would think something like a stamp commemorating the Navy or such might have been a better choice.
