Can someone tell me from what Florida city this international airport cancel originated?

International Airport is/was a Classified Branch of Miami, FL per 1951 Postal Guide

A similar case is the Air Base, California postmark used by the Fairfield-Suisan AFB in the late 1940s and early 50s. The base was later renamed to Travis AFB.

Briefly resurrecting this thread since the pictured cancel was brought up today in a different thread.

GeoffHa- actually, there were several International airports in Florida both in 1954 and 1958 but glad some folks here had references to establish this particular cancel was used in Miami.

An international airport meant the airport in question had customs service(s) in place. No customs no international in the airport name.

Yes and several airports in Florida had International flights during the 1950's. As an example, please review the info on this page:

Note that International Flights were inaugurated from Tampa Drew Field to Havana and Canada on December 15, 1946, at which time it was renamed Tampa International Airport.
