The catalog doesn't show a roll of stamp for this issue it only shows booklet panes. Any ideas on the lack of perforation on the right side?

It is a single from the edge of a pane within the entire sheet. Often called a straddle margin copy.

In my opinion- I think you should look at the right hand side. It appears to be cut off and slightly slanted on that side. There are two or three partial perf holes showing towards the bottom. Probably a pane single from a cover that was opened with scissors causing the damaged side.

It is very curious, I had never heard George VI defined as "The Canadian King"

The British monarchy is also the monarchy of Canada. So King George VI was also the king of Canada, the same way QEII is currently the queen of Canada.

Yes, I know, but I had never heard or read it expressed like that, it never even crossed my mind.
She is the queen of many places, but I have never heard her defined as more than the Queen of England.
