Hello,
I've already made a few posts so thought I'd introduce myself to let other members know my interests.

I mainly collect older Empire/Commonwealth stamps along with a a few European countries that I've visited.like Greece France Germany and Ireland

I mainly get my stamps from Local Auctions and eBay, I also trade on excess stamps on eBay.

My interest in stamps comes from the combination of Art Geography and History they represent

Regards

Hugh

Hello, Hugh. Are you a buyer at Somerset Stamp Auctions (one of my regular auctions, although too fiddly for me to visit in person)?

Geoff
I've seen Somerset auctions online and know people at the local club that buy off them. I tend to buy at the local General auctions as I have the time to sort through lots and you're more likely to find a bargain than the specialist sales where everything is scrutinised and listed in detail.

I generally use Lawrence's in Crewkerne and Acreman and Charterhouse in Sherborne as they're nearer.

Sounds fun. Not much in the way of cheap and cheerful local sales near me in London. I look online at general sales - never get any stamps, but acquire a lot of other junk! SSA are good people to deal with.

shapaw,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ
