Going through a box of old covers on a rainy morning I can't help but wonder why Central America and Mexico didn't get a larger following.

I know there are collectors but they pale in numbers compared to the European countries and GB and their commonwealths. I love the turn of the century covers, colorful, ornate strikes, aux markings, franking combos, these have a lot going for them visually.

Those 1898 train stamp covers are not as common as that.

Strange that you mention this only because on a whim last night I decided to see what covers were fetching on Ebay and much to my surprise (only found 2 train covers) the ones I found sold for $35 & $50.

Perf 12, finally getting back to these and I see exactly what you mean.

I listed the American club cover a few months back for $75 and it sold within hours. I started looking to see what these were fetching in auction, couldn't find any.

I've been digging and digging for the UPU train and the Arias, and UPU Guardiola on cover.

Checking Hip stamps I found 2 listings for the UPU Trains.

This on by a seller "Cherrystone stamps". I know nothing about the seller.

And this is the 2nd listing I found. Again, I have no idea of the seller's knowledge or reputation.

Now all that's left to figure out is the scarcity due to supply? or demand?

I'm certainly rooting for these guys, I'm sitting on at least 30 of the Train covers if not more.

Stallzer - Cherrystone Stamps is Cherrystone the big auction house in NJ. They also retail and have a stamp store on their website. Great service and return policy.

Edit to add: The train cover from Hip that Cherrystone is selling is also in their main Stamp Store listed for $175.

Thanks, figured as much but didn't want to make the assumption.

Hope they are in the ballpark.
