I have to say that it is a substantial offering of over 1,000 lots with a lot to chew on. One of the better auctions of this type in recent memory. Photos are not posted yet but here is the link to the text only catalog:

Thanks for posting it .

Notice the price per lot seems to me to be higher ,for the estimates . Lots of over $5,000 lots .

There is a lot of "common " country lots like Belgium ,France , and Germany , a few nice colonies lots but they are group together to raise the price per lot .

Yes they have a lot of items listed so I will be surprised if they have much aggressive bidding ,this auction is coming at the tail end after Westpex, Hammers, Dutch , Rasdales ,and Ratain recent auctions ,so the stamp community is not "starving" for material .

As usual there are a lot of serious US collections but only 1 significant WW collection. As floortrader pointed out a couple weeks ago, lots of WW accumulations and dealer stocks but few collections.

There are a lot of proof and essay lots - I wonder if this is the last of the Langs estate?

Answering my own question - some of the later lots refer to Langs' retail pricing, so some of this must be from the Langs estate.

According to Kelleher it is the end of their Lang offerings. Some will feel sad and others will rejoice.

good to know - I have big stack of revenue essays on my desk that are still on the Kelleher lot cards. I have been putting-off mounting the material since I didn't want to have to generate new pages whenever I bought another item

Is some of the Lang stuff really a second bounce for that material ,I believe some of his material was sold in very large lots . So a buyer who took out what he wanted could relist/consign the stuff thru Kelleher and still have it listed as Lang's material .

Will it go 'round in circles?
Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky?

A lot of material for sure, but hard to assess the quality of the country collections until some pics show up. And the estimates do seem high. Personally bought quite a bit recently - mostly Sparks, but also Maresch, Rasdale, Rumsey & Dutch Country, so won't be buying much at this one.

This is an item from a large bulk lot. It's unbelievable to me that someone would ask $2000 for this creation!

He can ask whatever he wants. The pricing may explain why it is still in his stock. Huge margins, no doubt, but 'manufactured' in the modern world. Plus, various faults take away from its "WORLD CLASS GEM" attribution.

I see a bunch of new auctions listed on S.A.N. ,this is starting to look like auction overload . Also Ebay stamp sales are not hitting previous sales numbers . My guess is more stuff is starting to clog the system .As stated earlier more stuff will move at opening bid or close to those opening levels . Auction firms can only start the openings at a higher level to try and get their price .

Stock market is no help here and forget watching the News ,maybe I am wrong and collectors are going to say "screw everything " and just lock up and work on their collections and buy entertainment .
