Your story hits close to home. I was a more-or-less lifelong collector who had taken a pause in the early 90s, only to resume 15 years later. Almost 8 years ago, my wife passed away ... followed in short order by my mother & my youngest brother ... all over an 18 month period. Stamp collecting helped me retain some semblance of sanity during this period.
