Seeking Information About Those US Revenues

this is scott #R676 it got manuscript on the face with date while it is unused as it got full original gum on the back so how to classify it as precancel or another reason for this cancelation also should say it is unused or mint


for this one I classified as unused no gum it is scott#RD58 my question is two parts the first did my classification wrong or write the second it perfin DD while I didnt found this pattern every where so what is this perfin and did it form of precancellation, also I think it is from booklet pan.




also can any on identify this cancellation I can see words of national bank it may be for "First national bank of stamford" but am not sure

Both of your first two stamps are used. The gum on the first is irrelevant. The double D perfin is Dominick & Dominick of New York City. The source of my information on the perfin is Arthur Mongan's U.S. Revenue Perfins

Arthur Mongan recorded uses of the double D perfin as late as 1943. Your example falls within his recorded range. In terms of their use on postage stamps, it is quite possible that they did not use it on postage stamps.

I just found your source (from The Perfin Club) for the 1917-1922 recorded use of the double D perfin on postage stamps. So the postage stamp collectors have not recorded that perfin use on postage later than 1922. For recording on revenue stamps you should be using the Arthur Mongan source, which is also available from The Perfin Club.

Is is mentioned in the standard USA perfin catalog, of course.

The DD-perfin was used by Dominick & Dominick in NYC (now Dominick & Dickermann)

The time period mentioned by our Lithuanian friend just includes normal postage stamps. There are many companies that stopped punching them because they started using franking machines.
