Hi everyone!
I'm new here, and mostly new to stamp collecting. My dad has a massive collection, which my sisters and I helped with as I was growing up. Now the collection is mine, and I'm hooked! I was sorting a box of loose stamps and found this guy, The 1a Azad Hind, unperforated. I see that they aren't officially listed in Scott, so does anybody know anything about it? There is a Wikipedia article, which is informative but I'd love a similar Scott catalog like assessment.
Does anybody know anything?

Trixie,
employ the SCF "Search" option
This forum has most queries covered.

Unperforated...you may wish to use "Imperforate"

Hi, Trixie!

I also have a number of those, both perf and imperf, and I had also been looking for a catalog that lists these.

However I think if you are looking for a Scott-like catalog listing someplace, I don't think you will. Since you read the Wikipedia article. I won't repeat it but the stamps were printed but never issued. There was no letitimate postal authority set up so these were stamps without a country, more or less. Therefore, Scott won't list them and I do not believe that any of the major postage stamp catalogues (Michel, etc) will list these.

Stamps like these are occasionally included in privately-written catalogues (there is an entire book devoted to JUST the WWI propaganda stamps and charity seals from the Central Powers, for example) but in most of those cases, they are not priced. Stamps like these have historically been ignored or neglected, hence fhe name "Cinderellas", and there aren't really enough of most of these thinga to have a stable enough market to evaluate.

But I have never seen these listed in any catalogue, and I've never seen them referenced by a catalogue number by lots of these listed on eBay and elsewhere)… and I've been looking for a while, but I do not think you will ever find these in a catalogue anyplace. I wish I could tell you otherwise!

Best thing you can do, if you want to get an idea of their valuel is to look on eBay. See what they're selling for, etc. That's how I get an idea of things' value… check on eBay… :)
