Sources from which water can be obtained.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are various ways of obtaining water, there are catchment areas such as reservoirs, rivers, Irrigation channels and spring water that can be accessed.
Another method is to drill or dig down to the groundwater source and create a well from which water can be obtained via a bucket, rope and pulley..... In some areas of the world these are the only sources that are available.
Here are some interesting examples depicted on stamps of Moldova.
Sources from which drinking water can be obtained.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A previously mentioned source of obtaining water is from a natural spring, sometimes classified as a fountain or well.

A well-known custom is to throw a coin into a fountain when making a wish and hope that your wish will come true in doing so.

Here is a selection of springs/fountains found on Portuguese stamps..............

Not all fountains have been created for drinking from, as with these next stamps.
Made to be purely ornamental............
