Have no clue what this one may be.

Any guesses?

It is quite small, the design is 18 x 18.

I just ran Shimomura through Yandex Translate
Looks like you have the small variety
"used as a postmark for a large single stamp"

Just a FYI

Hi Rod and all;

The Yandex translation seems to be a bit confused; both large and small formats were affixed onto almanacs - large format on bounded almanac, and small format on single sheet almanac.

This is an example of large format on Meiji 10 Almanac. The single sheet almanac with small format stamp affixed seems to be pretty rare, thus not in my collection yet :-(
