Did you really use the telephone in that manner? In 1980s?? That is something... I thought that machine on wall looks like a human face, and one below is even more so by the location of microphone.

No Tomoko, way before my time, the visiting kids would delight in playing with it.
Your stamp is very much like the one had in the hallway.

The painting was from Meiji era, the painter's active time was around 1890 to 1912.

This one below, has a Morse key and an old fashioned microphone (I guess the round object next to the key is so..?).

Morse code encircling globe.. I couldn't read the message bouncing into the universe, as spacing is not clear. But still, lovely stamp .

So, perhaps in a thematic, such as this,
one could also include stamps with Sir Francis Bacon?
(just a suggestion for reflection)

Gosh, Rod - it is getting deeper and deeper... and amazing how early one (ok, such a man) had invented and used! Coding and cryptograms - all which the computing is later inspired .

And yes, of course Sir/Lord Francis is welcomed here!!

Let's celebrate more tape with dots .

On the first stamp it says "automatic telex network". Similar to later technologies which we almost forgotten, fax or pager, this must be critical communication tool in that era. Radio is still on, but being replaced by digital and will disappear shortly.

Turkey
1975 / automatic telex network, radio link
