Am interested to know how many other countries still have very recent kiloware on offer.
Australia very recent kiloware has become extremely hard to get and very expensive.
Wonder how many other countries are like our experience here in Australia with their kiloware?
Does the US still have gummed stamps to make US kiloware still attractive? Has the US issued S/A that can come off paper?
Very interested in other counties situations concerning very recent kiloware.

In years to come these recent stamp issues postally used are going to be very hard to come by. As forgeries of mint stamps could make mint collections very unattractive to collectors and near impossible to prove authenticity.
So how do we truly know if a stamp is postally used has been age old cry from the bulk of serious collectors. On this line of thought stamps on paper with a postmark would be one way to prove being postally used. Have been keeping all the kiloware on paper as the best way to go forward for me is to amass a large collection of postally used stamps on paper from 2016 to the now. Supply is very difficult but am reasonably positioned to build into the future collecting kiloware. Am going to hold back selling until am not so active around the place. Important to have something to do in your latter years. Doing nothing is hard work.

For what's available these days, see the site of SCF advertiser Nordfrim. There's also Swan Philatelic Imports in the US. I wonder about turnover of (say) the charity mixes, if they would include the latest and greatest rather than old stock going back to the '80s being blended in.

It seems that very recent (post-2010s) "good" kiloware has been very hard to get generally. Plus aside from postally used are sometimes a large number of clippings from FDCs, perhaps a way to get values that aren't easy to come by postally used. But I do prefer postally used by a wide margin.

It's interesting to see the disconnect between how beginner and intermediate albums are set up and what's generally available in stamps. Those albums today provide a lot of illustrated spaces for modern issues that collectors are less likely to get and very little coverage of 19th and 20th Century issues that collectors are likely to find. You'd think collectors would be looking for stamps to fill those illustrated spaces. And buying a yearly supplement or two for your worldwide album is a waste for the used collector if they don't have a supply/supplier of current issues.

You might also consider checking out Court Philatelics in the UK https://www.stampmixtures.com/. They have some GB mixes with modern stuff. I recently placed an order and received my package with some nice GB stamps cancelled lightly on the top.

I received my stuff ten days after placing my order, UK to Chicago.

I's still possible to assemble a nearly complete used collection of Japan from kiloware, all the way up to the present - though you might have to buy a lot of it to obtain complete sets of some issues. The only exceptions are certain souvenir sheets that are sold at above face value and rarely (if ever) get used as postage. All of their stamps soak off in plain water, with most of them coming off nearly as easily as those with water-activated gum. A handful of issues are a little more stubborn, but I've never come across a Japanese stamp of any era that won't soak off in plain water.

There is just so much kiloware from many countries that has been picked over for decades. It is still good for basic starter collections. But not if you want quality used stamps. True for Australia also that kiloware from after 2010 is a good target area. For me am going back no more than 2016 issues.

Japan sounds interesting! TheArtfulHinger

Thanks for sharing your kiloware contact. StatesmanStamper

German kiloware is also cheap and plentiful. Though I haven't soaked any in about 5 years or so, they were all very soakable then, even the self adhesives. One should be able to complete nearly all of their issues up to the present day via kiloware without a huge expense.

Thank you for the info on Germany Art.

Australia recent kiloware buyers are now dropping off even more so. The super high kiloware prices are turning collectors more and more into pre-dec area purchases. Sad to hear from another collectors that they turning away from very recent stamp collecting. The Aus kiloware on offer on eBay Aus has all the good stuff taken out with heaps of definitives and people are paying good money for it and receiving rubbish kiloware from multiple buyers so they stop buying. The 2 main Aus eBay kiloware sellers are selling rubbish at best.

Have put in some bid on Australia kiloware on paper at a bricks and mortar auction. It has been a long time since I purchase from an auction house. Have bid on recent kiloware. Here is hoping. $3,000 worth of bids.

There is a long time hoard of 3kg Australia KGV on paper from 1920 to 1930s. Been stored in pristine conditions. estimate $1,000. Am very tempted to put a bid in for it. Do not see this type lot available much these days.

All my 4 bids have been beaten before the auction at 100% over estimate.

Estimate was the selling price last auction.

That's fine John,
it only means there were just two bidders.
You did your best, the other bidder may have gone to $100 further
You never know.

I lose roughly 80% of my bids on stamps (or used to)
and I snipe.

I just put what I think is (my) value, and do not worry about losing

The way auctions go.....lol Biggest problem is the charity name is very popular on the bids I made. Next time will put my bids on the other charities instead.

What disappoints me is the people who are winning these lots have no philatelic interest other than all the no post mark stamps for resale. The best is pulled out of the mix and then they sell it as kiloware on eBay. Australia post continues not to cancel domestic letter rate stamps and when they do it is a total black out, jet spay cancel. After jet spray and no cancel stamps taken out does not leave much quality in their kiloware. Possible as little 5% to 10% of stamps reaches the collector as kiloware.
