What to make of this? From Lot 1098 in Siegel's auction next week.



Obviously the stamp is not the same as the certificate.
Also, certificate 324137 does not show up in the PF database.

How would you handle bidding on this lot based on the images?

It is the stamp in the PDF in the auction catalog.

i would ask the auction house directly........if you are interested and able, view it, pr ask someone to examine it for you, or use an agent.

Actually, I wasn't really interested in it. I just thought it was curious that Siegel would miss something like this.

It's easy to miss something like this when creating an auction lot, everyone just assumed that it was the correct cert because 99.99% of the time it is. And it is really a relatively minor item in a relatively minor lot in an auction of over 1200 lots. And they have already done over a dozen sales this year. No one is perfect.
