I am unsure what to do with the German stamps, just starting to look at them and there are a few Hitler ones and a postcard with a nazi airship. Are you allowed to sell these type of things or is it best not to?

The only restrictions eBay applies are bans on stamps from countries the US dislikes and has placed embargies on - eg Cuba. Nazis are fine!

Don't believe they can be sold in Germany.

Yes, they can.

The question is what your purpose is. If you want to propagate national socialism, it is not allowed. For building a historic collection of stamps, it is not a problem.

You can buy them from German dealers.
Michel depicts them.

The biggest issue might be any stamps showing NAZI symbols like the swastika. Posting the images may be difficult. Selling them, is allowed.

Such zeppelin items were and remain quite popular. The most collected or desired US Airmail stamps are the three picturing a Graf Zeppelin for use sending mail by zeppelin (Scott C-13-15) and running second is the "Baby Zep" C-18.

Here is a screen shot of the most recently listed set:

Many countries issued stamps both showing the zeppelin and for use to pay postage on the mail carried by zeppelin. Such cards and envelopes are a very popular postal history area.

Edit:

Not remotely, not unless you're actually in Germany. They tend to take a dim view of that.

Those first three are the U.S. stamps, released in small quanitities and are worth a premium. The German ones, that he's talking about, they aren't worth a lot, depending on the specific stamps, because they were released in much larger numbers and are very common today. Things like C43-45 or C57-58 can be had for a couple of bucks.

As a novice German Stamp collector with a fairly large amount of stamps, I suggest you start on eBay and search "Germany Stamps" or Germany Stamp Collections" . You will find a wide array of these. Some (not all) German sellers will obscure the picture of it has the swastika but most do not. Beware of the sellers with super high values on simple stamps. If you want a large starter pack of these just let me know and I can freebie you a pack full.

There are topical collectors for Nazi and Hitler stamps. I plan to be one myself. I have a general interest in the subject.

Just this week a You Tuber posted a video of his search for Nazi and Hitler stamps. He had the terms in his video title. So don't worry too much about posting these for sell. They will be snatched up in no time.
