Pakistan 1973 Excavations of Moenjodaro Moenjodaro is located on the western bank of Indus River in southeastern Pakistan. Built around 2500 BC, it was the largest settlement of the ancient Indus Valley civilization and one of the world's earliest major cities. Most of the structures were built of mud bricks or fired and mortared bricks. The sheer size of the city, and its provision of public buildings and facilities, suggests a high level of social organization. |
