Hello and welcome! You'll find this a great place to get good information on the hobby. Sometimes there's some spirited back and forth about different topics but I find that enlightening too. I collected as a teenager and then put it aside for many decades. I've used this forum as a great way to figure out how to restart my collection. One doesn't even have to ask a lot of questions - there are tons of existing discussion threads on just about every problem that can be encountered. Good luck to you!

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

Personal bias. Used stamps are best collected on the cover they carried through the mails. This documents their journey.

Ok I must be so dumb … dumber than what I thought !! I can't seem to work out how to download my pic on here and I don't even know to how to chose the right forum .. be kind and the world will be kind back at ya !

I did follow the instructions on the free Image Optimiser and got to step 5 where the green arrows facing downward… then it all stops there .. what do I do next ?? Where is rest of the steps after step 5

Click on the green arrow and the optimised picture will be downloaded to your own device.
Then, use 'Upload Image' and search in your folder of downloads for the file. Click on 'Choose File' and choose the relevant file. After choosing the file click on 'Download to ...'s Post'. The picture will be uploaded to the site and a code will be added to your post.

You might want to use 'Reply to Topic' when adding the picture to an existing thread to see the 'Upload Image' link below the text box.
