I am a new stamp collector based in Canada. I just realized collecting stamps is a wonderful way to spend your spare time and an excellent stress relief. I do not do this as an investment (it takes the fun out of it and add another stress to my head) and I am doing this just for fun. So I am not looking to buy stamps as many of the serious stamp pros.

My collection is still very limited.

sidthestamper,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Welcome. You can start out slow as a collector but you'll end up with an 'envy' list. Knowing how to identify stamps and knowing values is very important, even if you don't spend a lot of money.

Hello!
Welcome aboard.

I also collect for the enjoyment, not as an investment. I completely agree that doing so makes the hobby stressful.

I have been trying to limit my collection too, but I keep buying 1,000 stamp world wide lots and now I am being overrun. LOL
