Other artistic works of the Queen have been used in the design of postage stamps, one of them being a portrait of Queen Elizabeth ll taken from a painting made In 1955 by Pietro Annigoni an Italian painter (1910 - 1988).

Various countries throughout the commonwealth have since used this particular image for some of their postage stamps.......

He painted her on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers.

This is my favourite QEII stamp and one of the best Canadian
engraved stamps ever issued.
Based on a photograph by Anthony Buckley and engraved
by Yves Baril.

Issued in 1964 to commemorate the Queen attending the centennial ceremonies of two 1864 pre-Confederation conferences in Charlottetown and Quebec City.

Following 3 are from those 81 stamps, which had "personally" approved by the Queen.

18 April 2006 / Her Majesty The Queen's 80th Birthday / photos are taken in 1960, 1972 and 2001

Friendly smile: best 3 snaps from a set of 8 monochrome photos. Highly artistic works, but no photographers' credit are on the Royal Mail info.

In 1973 the Queen made two official tours to Canada.

Between June 25 to July 5 QEII traveled across Canada
on the Royal Train stopping at various cities and towns
in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island.
She participated in various events marking the R.C.M.P. centennial,
the centennial of P.E.I. in Confederation and the tercentenary of Kingston.
No stamp was issued but collectors could make up their own covers and
have them cancelled in Ottawa.

Queen Elizabeth returned on July 31 1973 for the
Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
at Rideau Hall, Ottawa.

This time 2 stamps were issued, based on a photograph
by Anthony Buckley and engraved by George Arthur Gundersen.
