Postal Tax (Scott PT7) Jesus ~ The Seven Varieties.
(My error RA13 is the first impression, not a redraw)

Indeed Exlib,
I think it may be some kind of record, I do know of Turkish Postal Tax, that had a few redrawings.

I am currently doing the Dominican Republic Insured Letter stamps, they may be an even greater challenge.

Sundry Ephemera.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

As shown above, these Telegraphs, feature the simple but effective device of the "squared circle"
A semi medallic profile set in a rectangular frame.
Ornamented with Greek Borders .

First used with the Ceres stamps of the French Republic 1849

Adapted later to the first Greek stamps 1861
Blatantly plagiarised by Mathew Pipet for the Stamps of Corrientes (1856-1880)
Norways stamps of 1856 Oscar 1
and Romania stamps Carol 1 (1872)

I must admit, I am a fan of the Greek Border

Inspiration and words taken from William Finlay
"An Illustrated History of Stamp Design" 1974
