How about Mansewood, ON, although Wikipedia suggest their PO closed in 1914, I wonder if this is incorrect, or it became a station of a larger nearby town. |

Thanks for your reply. I guess it's a possibility, but the postal archives show that, upon closing, they were switched to rural mail delivery. |

Thanks, Rod222. I think that's it. I'm still learing how to search the archives. I now see what I did incorrectly on this search. As always, this site comes through. Thanks again. Ross |

I feel a certain kinship, with collectors of postmarks.
I am thinking lower CDS is "PQ1" or Just PQ ?
Newfoundland and Labrador's postal abbreviation was changed from NF to NL on 21 October 2002, to reflect the provincial name change from "Newfoundland" to "Newfoundland and Labrador" on 6 December 2001. In 1991, the code for Quebec was changed from PQ to QC. |

Thanks, Stamporator. Nice strike! rod222, yes, postmarks are fun to collect. I collect all types of Canadian postmarks, but seem to enjoy deciphering partial strikes.
I didn't understand your P.Q.1 vs. P.Q. question. |

Quote: I didn't understand your P.Q.1 vs. P.Q. question. I thought I might be seeing a "1" after PQ in the stamp scan thinking it may be a hammer ID Perhaps it's just a quirk of Pmks fooling us with odd marks / stains that confuse. |

I don't think so, rod222. The P. Q. Is perfectly centered, a 1 would make it off center. Cheers, Ross |
