(Small detour)

Decided to do SG105 Parliament House for a change of pace. Will keep the early commemoratives together in their own book.
The first one seems to have been postally used from Sydney on 9 May 27 (not 22) (FDOI). The pair of Canberra, FTC 9MY27 (CTO) was sent to me by a nice collector from "Down Under". (Just saw I spelled it wrong on the label ). The last in the row is a regular Melbourn CTO. There is also a Sydney 10 May 27.

This is part of what I'm working from. Picked up from ebay some time back. Each book had one or two states.

This is a page as when I got them. This is from the Victoria book.

This is what I'm trying to do. This is the "A" page for NSW.

Not going to strictly alphabetize each page, but I'm adding my own column to a spreadsheet bobby sent me to help organize.

That's it, back to regularly scheduled sorting.

Thanks,
pat

Nice stuff Pat

Barry is a hard one to get. The numeral is very rare.

This picture is of the closed General Store at Barry which I took when I was out there a couple of years ago.

Very nice Pat!

Some Post Offices have had two postcodes but this would only be apparent if the Office had datestamps of each.

"G" page.

"H" page.

(Not too many I&J's)
I've noticed a few instances of what you said about the post codes.
Jindabyne has 2527 on it, but current lookup shows 2627

Jindabyne's postcode is 2627, so I think the postmark is underinked. There's a hint of doubling there too.

When certain postcodes were changed, they were generally adjusted only slightly. Leura changed from 2781 to 2780, Hartley changed from 2786 to 2790 however Bell changed from 2740 to 2786.

NSW postcodes were allocated geographically. 2527 is Albion Park, which is near Wollongong which has postcode 2500.

I just found this, which is helpful for reverse lookups:

O.K. - Here is the Postmark Reveal. The flat top made me think 5.
Don't know what font they used. The numbers look a bit "freehand??"

I wish I had an example to compare, but I only have the prior device.

Good thing we're not looking at the numeral cancels, where the 5s and 6s are an absolute nightmare in parts of the allocations.
