Found out a week ago Friday wife and I had Covid. Dodged it for almost three years, but now here we are. Wife had her second negative today - I'm still positive. Said she knew I was sick when I wasn't (as she said) "Playing with my stamps". So that's it for NSW. Any interest in any other States? Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria. I'll probably do some more of the early commemorative's. Thanks for looking, pat (Last Pages) O -W Given by a Canadian friend. Sent 130830 - arrived Sept 06 2013 (Not bad) Trying to make out the spray cancel. S(???)...F NSW FMOCR 708 With "Mail found damaged...." sticker. Edmonton, AB Meadowlark PO |

Been off doing other things. Back to Australia for a bit. Up in the mountains for two weeks. Brought my Victoria and Melbourne books with me to work on. No scanner or USB scope so will have to share when I get back. The snow for the past month has really been something. Finally able to come up and dig out. One neighbor said he recorded 9ft. for the storms. One next to me lost a large pine, but luckily fell away from the house. Last week the snow (berm) was to the top of the orange pole (6ft.). Rain and warmer weather starting to melt fast. Best to all, pat |

Got back yesterday. Saw that it is snowing up there again today. So on to Victoria. Picked up my "Big Blue" Vol. 1A&B around 1973. Worked on it for many years and with glassine page dividers and quadrille extra pages it had expanded to six binders. Not sure exactly when, but at some point I stopped adding, and started moving countries I was more interested to Vario pages. This is my original Victoria as I left it.For old memories decided to leave it as it was. For not collecting cancels back then, seemed to have captured a few. Moving forward I'll do State stamps, then Melbourne cancels, then general towns. (maybe ) Thanks, pat |

John (idgaf64) sent me the 'Cancellations of Melbourne' some time back. Using it on the below was way deeper than I needed, but very helpful with all the variations: Duplex single circle number and time codes Double circle and Commonwealth types These came to me some time ago in a large accumulation from a nice collector from the down under blog. I've sorted these roughly, will probable redo more to follow the book. Thanks, pat |

Quote: The bottom one on last page is very frustrating: MCCC? 130?? It is in the 1400s, 'MCCCC' (the 1500s were 'MD'). Beyond that, the number cannot be determined. |
