The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is a multilateral treaty to protect endangered plants and animals. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of the species in the wild, and it accords varying degrees of protection to more than 35,000 species of animals and plants. The UN issued many sets, each consisted of four stamps, depicting endangered species protected by the CITES. The stamps were issued in a sheet consisted four sets and illustrated margins. Here are prosimian primates on UN CITES stamps: Crowned Lemur (Eulemur coronatus), issued by the UN Geneva office on March 24, 1995:
Bush Baby (Galago senegalensis), issued by the UN NY office on March 13, 1998:
Lepilemur (Lepilemur spp.), issued by the UN Geneva office on February 1, 2001:

Note about the assays I posted above. I asked a question about them and here is my question and a very proffessional answer I received from a French collector:
My question: I won these color proof assays from 1903 French Madagascar show Zebu and Lemur. I was the only bidder and paid 20GB which seems to me very cheap for assays from 1903. What do you think? are they genuine assays? note the zero values.
Answer: Those private "essais" with a zero face value were issued by the Chassepot firm, who had not been selected for the official printing of the "Zebu" Madagascar set, made by Whitman.
Chassepot had produced too many freaks and oddities with previous Gabon and Somali issues.
They wanted to prove (afterwards) their better engravers / printers quality.
Not very rare.

Every time I see this stamp (Belize / Brit Honduras) I think prosimian No, you are not the only one. I also confused and included this animal in my want list until I realized it is not a prosimian and not a primate at all. I have this stamp shows P. flavus issued by El Salvador in 1969: |

Thanks Jill ! We have a winner. Strange, my Michel Gulf states, does not name the vignette. PS: I think the suffix (A) suggests MANAMA in capitals (It also exists in script)Ooops, Incorrect, Only exists once, here is its plate position in the sheet. |

Rod, thanks for he Ajman stamp. It is prosimian for sure but don't know if it is Bushbaby or a Tarsius. Indri (Indris brevicaudatus), designed and engraved by Pierre Gandon and issued by Madagascar on December 9, 1961. I enclose the old sketch used as a model to design the Indri on the right:
The stamp was revalued and reissued on June 24, 1968: |
