A suggestion would be to post scans of what you inherited. I suppose we can narrow it down to stamps. Concentrate on the older stamps. If they are in an album with countries identified, USA, GB, Germany, France are among the ones that have most active followers here, who can tell you their impression on what you post. |

Perhaps post a scan, of the earliest page of stamps, to begin with. Members can then offer their opinions.
Romania has some lovely stamps.

Opinion. A nice collection to begin a journey with Philately.
I see no monetary value there, mainly 20c stamps The stockbook looks in good condition. That sort of page I see at auctions starting at 40c per page.

Third row, third stamp, People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) 1974. Second row, third and fourth stamps NIPPON = Japan. Second row, fifth and sixth stamps (People's Republic) of China. Top row, last stamp - maybe someone can confirm - I would look at Taiwan (Republic of China), |

Your next step, is to buy a "whole World Stamp Catalogue" if you wish to pursue the hobby This was my first Catalogue 45 years ago (I paid $2-$3) (Don't worry about ebay crazy prices) Try your local bookshops for any stamp catalogues Then you can learn about all stamps and their images |

In Europe, you will struggle to find a catalogue in a book shop. They will not waste money on shelf space for something that goes out of date within a year or a few years. If the book shop is extremely lucky, it will sell one once every ten years. Most catalogues can be bought from national distributors or the publisher. If you can find a stamp shop, it might stock one or two, or process your order. But those will be the new ones at full price. Also, if this is what OP inherited, I would not waste money on a catalogue but first consider whether to collect stamps, and, if so, what to collect. A worldwide catalogue costs a fortune when bought from a retailer. There, often, is a reason you can buy an out-of-date catalogue for peanuts. In that 1969 SG catalogue, you may not find a single stamp shown by OP. |

Stampsarenice, Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby. Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ |

The older stamps of the countries mentioned will give an impression on whether there is any value in the collection. These stamps as a lot - some are in terrible condition - are unlikely to command more than a few cents. |
