First time used PSE - I have a single regular issue stamp in there for about 7 weeks now. Is that typical? How much longer should I set my expectations for?

I have requested 3 PSEs from the APS Expertizing Service in 2022. All of them took about 60-90+ days to be returned.

If you're in a hurry for the cert, pay PSE for their Priority service - $20 fee with 15 business days (3 weeks) turn-around rather than 30+ business days (6 weeks) otherwise.

I may do that next time - didn't expect such long delays.

PSE (Professional Stamp Experts) and the APEX (American Philatelic Expertising Service) are not related but both are expertising services.

For US stamps, there are four major certifying organizations in the country.

The Philatelic Foundation (PF) - the undisputed gold standard
https://www.philatelicfoundation.org

American Philatelic Society (APS) dba American Philatelic Expertising Service (APEX)

Professional Stamp Experts (PSE)

Philatelic Stamp Authentication and Grading (PSAG)
