There's A Niche For Precancels Too?

I love it! The more I get into this hobby the more complex it gets..
I have these to go through now, and not only for types. Do you have any advice on how to go about it/what to look for?

No way... Is that, because of the precancel? Or just because a rare variety was found with a precancel on it..?

Some is due to the stamp which is precanceled and most if not the only known examples are precanceled. Others due to the individual precancel is unique on the stamp.

San Francisco reading up and down on the complete, nine value, eighteen stamp, Panama Pacific Exposition Set can be owned by just one person as one of the values (a ten cent if memory serves) and direction is unique with just one example recorded. The seventeen stamp short set is not too difficult.

I finally found a measuring tool (may be the last one in Japan), so I'll start measuring them first, then study up on the PC varieties later.
