I have a Stamp Album titled "For the Purchase of United States War Savings Bonds" that I found in my Mothers old papers. Only the first page in the book is filled with stamps, from $.25 to $2.50. I have attached a picture. They are from 1942 and are the Minute Man stamps. Are these worth anything, or should I toss them. Do stamp collectors want them? I have sent emails to the Treasury Dept. and USPS, but haven't received anything back yet.

Hi and welcome. You should not toss stamps - someone is always in the market.
You only show us one stamp - could you post a picture of the page you mentioned?

Your booklet has value. You should not quit your job, but it will probably get you a free lunch. I agree with Peter posting images of the stamps inside will help.

What on earth did you ask or expect to hear from USPS or Treasury?

Savings stamps are still redeemable at face value if you can find the right place (I believe it is the Treasury Department, Bureau of the Public Debt). Unlike Savings Bonds they don't accrue interest (and unlike savings bonds, they tend to be redeemable by the bearer and not tied to a specific individual). Faster, easier, and probably a little more selling on ebay at least when the books are not too full - the stamps are abundant but there are numerous varieties of the booklets and they are collectible (I have a 10 frame large gold medal exhibit of this stuff).

Sunshine thank you for bringing up the topic. I never thought they were worth face value. Or at least might be.
