I recently came across a propaganda stamp from Epirus which Scott vol 2b identifies as post-1920 (design features a double-headed eagle). With it was a 1905 forgery (map of Crete) noted in stampforgeries.com. Can anyone tell me what these other two are that were with them?

The bottom two? Check out Bavaria 1920, and then the German overprints of the same year.

I believe yours are forgeries, requires confirmation.

If they're forgeries, they're very poor ones. No text, no overprinting. Looks like wrong paper, maybe even wrong perfs. Not sure what they are. Some sort of color trial, maybe?

I have had them as Cinderellas for years.
but never confirmed.
I agree with your observations.

Many thanks for the very quick identification - yes image wise they are identical to Bavaria 1920 von Kaulbach's "Genius" Scott #251 and #252. The perfs seem to be right but since they are completely blank and are on brown paper... colour proofs are the most likely perhaps?

Followed up on the Bavaria lead with Evert Klaseboer who I found online - has created an online catalogue of forgeries etc. - and he reported that these were used for advertising - so what I have are blank versions of these. His catalogue has a couple of examples, one he forwarded to me. I'm going to purchase his catalogue as it looks very useful.
