Nice Video, enjoyed.
First time I have witnessed the perforation pins being installed, sadly
the definition failed to show the pins making the ellipses.

Costs mentioned included Designer payments, never seen any reference
to these, just a foggy memory USPS pays a maximum of $5,000
but not sure the date of that read.

Well done, informative video; thank you for posting. It's quite interesting to see the new or current technology...and at the same time, the perforation setup is essentially done by hand too!

Interesting and fun, but I would still rather have one of the percussion cap (gunpowder) essays then some of the modern stamps on "unusual" surfaces. Yes, someone thought it was a good idea to have a percussion cap in a stamp so that when you hit it with a cancelling device, the cap would blow a hole in the stamp, preventing reuse.

The Chinese were way ahead of everyone, they simply made the outer ring of the CDS (Circular Date Stamp) with a Knurled finish.
(Same as the US Grill )

When the hammer was struck, the diamond points broke the paper
and the cancelling ink infused.

Never understood why that never caught on.

It was like a flashback to school in the 1970s when all of the educational movies they put on were already old. I will watch it. I was just being hasty.
