Thank you both KuoLC5310 and Roniku for your contributions! I didn't know that South Korea is so dominant in Olympic archery. I love the 1988 Swiss stamp, shows many different types of arrows - straight, bent, curved, dual directions, merged and branched!! Here is a typical branched version. Turkey 1954 / 5th Anniversary of NATO: freedom, peace & power  It is unfortunate that the world is watching a heavy challenge of NATO since last year, continues a year soon. I wish to see the peace in the near future... |

Wow, vayolene - thank you for your lovely finding! I didn't notice that the car icon has an arrow! also that Škoda manufactured steam locomotives. Here is another Winged-Arrow (backward) on stamp, together with a tiny arrow under the wheeled dog. Arrows and globe - international movement, traffic of people. Finland 26 May 1981 / Council Session of European Conference of Ministers of Transport / design: P. Rahikainen  After I posted, I counted arrow heads (8 x 3 = 24) and then found one extra on the bottom right corner.. together with lines made by rails, road and sea waves. Minor, but charming details.  |
