Archiguy, You have received some pushback in this thread that you are using this forum to do very simple Google research which you can do yourself. Several of the postcards you have posted here in recent weeks have subsequently appeared for sale on Ebay under your Archisell username. This practice rankles some participants here who will feel "used" to increase your sales without some indication when you start a thread of your intent when asking for information, etc. Some replies are quite detailed and require considerable time to make. No doubt some who have provided help here were interested in the item, only to find out too late that it "sold out from under them" without having a chance at it - and using their own knowledge contribution in the sales process. (Fortunately, the real photo postcard with the German writing above the sailor is still available on ebay.) Lastly, I don't recall seeing any followup posts to any of your threads along the lines of "Thank you all for the help, I now have the item listed on Ebay for those who might be interested in it. Here is the link:" Just saying....
I knew this answer as soon as I saw the photo on the card. I live in Toledo. It's a relatively well know event around here, if you know the local history.
