Wanted: Zagorskiy Catalogue

Looking for a copy of Zagorskiy in English (French or German), 1857-1965 (or later). New or used, date of issue not important.

I hope you find one. I looked for the English version for two years with no luck. I also contacted Zagorsky directly because their website showed them as in stock, but they replied that it was a mistake, and they could not point me towards one.

Yeah, I'm not hopeful. I've tried every Russian stamp dealer I can think of. Also, like you, tried Zagorskiy himself. Got a nice note back almost at once. He's in Florida now, at least for the time being. Told me the English version is out of print. I encouraged him to do another print run. I've got a very nice copy of the Russian version: love the organization, but I don't know a word of the language, so it's a struggle to use and too much of seemingly important text is just opaque to me. I've wondered whether there might not be a version in German or French. Do you know?

It sounds as if we have had almost the exact same experience in our hunt. I too love the catalog, but it is a struggle at times to extract the information that I want. I looked for editions in other languages and came up empty. I just sold my Russia collection but will continue to search for the elusive English Zagorsky. I wonder why he hasn't moved to print-on-demand. No holding or carrying costs, never run out of copies, update editions with ease.

Just searched addall.com/used for Zagorsky and title catalogue. There is an English language copy for sale on german Amazon.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out on this. I just won the copy that Randy found on Delcampe: 25 €. I should have been checking Delcampe all along. German Amazon is a new idea as well. So, got what I need and learned some shopping tactics as well. Thanks again for taking the time to help.

The only downside is that the shipping more than doubled the sale price. But still, no complaints here.
