What is the term of art for on-piece specimens that consist of a cover trimmed to show only the stamp with its postmark? I consider this (whatever the term is) to be a SUBSET of "on piece." For example:
Agree with Geoff. On piece means on a piece of something and on cover means on a cover. If the there is a section of cover removed that is much smaller than what remains you might say "reduced cover".
