Should stamp strips (5/strip) be sold intact or separated?

Depends on the issue, a pic would be helpful.

Coil stamps are usually sold in strips.

Please don't cross post (put same question in several different threads). Someone will answer you in time.

Being new, it's hard to know the right thing to do.

While we always enjoy a scan of members' stamps, in this case, this question is general and doesn't really need a scan, does it?

Since this is a general question, I agree with pascoe: it depends.

Does the issue have a plate number at the bottom?
Does the issue have a line between two of the stamps in the strip?
Do any of the stamps have faults?
Is the stamp modern, and have nominal value?
Is there a misperforation or transition perforations (between imperforate to perforated)?
... and I am sure there may be other conditions to determine the answer.

This would be a better question to apply to a specific example.

Thanks orstampman, I didn't think of that.

As for a general question about separating stamps, I feel that "the more the merrier":
I prefer to avoid doing things that can't be undone like separating stamps, removing tabs, hinging a MNH.

Odd. The OP had a post in the "Faq: inherited A Collection? Answers To Your Questions" thread where I responded. Both are now removed, therefore negating my previous comment.
