What am I missing here? How do two of you know the identity of the dealer for sure unless KR discussed this before? Sure he is a good guess, but you are presnting it like it is a fact.

The collector came for 1 item and got out bid, the dealer (not NYSTAMPS) brings a truck and buys a lot. I don't know if he overpaid.

I have been to many auctions where NY was bringing the truck and outbidding everyone for dozens of lots. If it wasn't him, it was only because he did so the auction before and hadn't cleaned them all up yet.

The most annoying thing was when there would be no interest in a lot but as soon as somebody placed a bid he would start bidding and not stop until the other bidder(s) dropped out.

I know Jimmy and the firm he owns very well ,we both sat thru many auctions , many local dealers in the Midwest know him well we all experienced N.Y.Stamps bidding practices , I first clash with them in 1999 at Greg Manning Auctions in New Jersey . We sat next to each other for 8 hours viewing lots for Thursday and Friday before the Saturday collection auctions .

It was a fun time ,Dr. Bob or David Kolhs of Regency on one side and Jimmy of N.Y.Stamps on the other ..

A lot of the bourse dealers had a lot to say about how N.Y.Stamps was bidding for lots at Rasdale's .
