Hello, my name is Jay from the south east of the United States. I've been reading this forum for well over a year and figured I would finally register and slowly get involved.

I have been collecting stamps since I was ten, so on and off for the last thirty years. I am now currently working on turning what is at best an accumulation of stamps into an actual collection.

I am a general world-wide collector with no date restrictions. I prefer postally use issues, but will take whatever comes my way. I use Steiner pages and hinge with only vintage hinges.

I am a night shift worker. I work 12 hour shifts, so I usually only get to my collection on my weekends. I keep nearly the same sleep schedule on my days off, so it's very common for me to be working on my collection at 2 a.m.

I've enjoyed reading this site for a long time, and hope to continue to do so in the future.

Welcome to the forum. I am up late working on my stamp accumulation many nights, also, trying to make it into a collection. I am retired now but I used to rotate between nightshift and dayshift and worked a lot of overtime.

The Search button above will lead you to a wealth of knowledge on all kinds of topics on this forum. There are many great stamp collectors here to help you learn more about your stamps.

Glad you joined us,

Linus

NocturnalHinger,

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
