What Are These Gold Plated Stamps

I found these in my stepfathers collection. Can anyone tell me anything about them? Are they a set? Worth anything? Are they just foofoo?

Made, marketed, and sold as 'collectables' typically by private companies**. They normally do not have much, if any market value. You can check 'sold' eBay listings to get a feel for their market value.

That said, I know of one collector who has made an US album full of them, and frankly it looks pretty cool. He said that this album gets far more praise and attention from non-collectors than any of his high-end US collections.

Yeah, they're...not really anything. Over the decades, a number of companies (think Franklin Mint and the like) produced these under license from the USPS as "valuable, limited edition collectibles, so buy now before it's too late!". You get the idea. Certainly worth checking eBay for prices sold, you might get a few bucks (~$5 each) for them. But that's where things start and stop with these, I'd say.
