Crummy title. It should at least have the country name in it so we can find it later

angore,

Nice to see you doing this here. I've seen your first issue postings elsewhere and they are wonderful. Please continue to do it - it is a valuable resource for those interested in first issues!

I see the title to include any and all first issues and #1's.

If you do a simple search for "Venda", this page comes up quite easy.

Always had the idea to do a #1's collection on pages. One stamp per page, with write-up. Maybe even more than one per country, depending on historical timelines and government changes.
Anyway, with most of my ideas and projects, never went anywhere.

I'd be surprised if someone on here has not done the similar. (most country #1's in Scott are not very expensive.

Hope people keep adding here.

Patg23, see these threads on what I was doing using John's AFSEC Album Easy source. My effort got sidelined to work on a Machin album but working part time and reading some books got in the way of that, I can share what I have done.

My strategy was to get as much information into AlbumEasy and then decide final organization and presentation rather than define a fixed style and then try to fit it all into that.

Aruba SG #1/Sc #18 issued 1986. Aruba is one of the four countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, along with the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten; the citizens of these countries are all Dutch nationals.

Michel and NVPH also list this as Aruba No. 1.

My guess is Scott chose the 5c issue as their No. 1 because it was the smallest denomination of those released on Jan. 1 1986.

An interesting thought. I have a question that someone can probably answer quickly. Do all catalogues, as in Scott, Stanley Gibbons, Michele, etc., have the same stamp issue listed as Number 1? I imagine they are consistent with established countries but wondered if there was disagreement with newer states and nations. Anyone know?
