I have a collection of about 2000 stamps, I didnt catalogue them but I did search on all of them.

I have made a small catalogue of my worthiest stamps but I still dont know their worth.

I have the Austrian 1851 newspaper yellow mercury which is not as worth as red mercury but its still worth a lot. But there seems to be no place to authanticate and sell it. And I dont know its real worth there seems to be next to none people selling it on any market. Everything I found is not authenticated but is still selling at about 5k$

Stampworld says that it is about 8k$ for used one and the one I have seems to be used I mean it has like stamp on it that means it is used and it is in great condition. can anyone help me with this postmark?

P.S. I want to sell it because it is very expensive to finish that set since Red Mercury stamp is one of the rarest Austrian stamps, and I hate unfinished sets,

Any stamp certification body that covers international issues will be able to "authenticate" (or not) your stamp. Which you choose will depend to a degree in where you are based as well as the reputation of the body.

Siegel sold this one a few years ago with a Behr certificate for $850.

Be aware that real examples will look like the stamp above, being faded. There are a LOT of fakes out there.

Posting a picture would help immensely.

Forget Ebay and Hipstamp for pricing. A quick look just showed ALL fakes being currently listed for thousands of dollars.

This is a fake:

Since this is my Grandfathers collection which I inherited and he was into philanthropy and he was submiting his life to it, a lot of very old stamps still have great colour, he kept them in albums in some kind of small transparent packaging a tiny bit bigger than the stamp itself, anway here is a picture. Since im not home at the moment the one im sending is bit older I can send a new one when I get home.

Based upon the cancellation and margins alone there is really no chance that your stamp is a genuine 1851 yellow Mercury. Whether a forgery or one of the numerous official reprints can be answered with a better scan/picture. Sorry.

Can you give me a better scan ,then I can authenticate it for you , There are three different types of this stamp .

There are real stamps ,forgeries and 3 sets of reprints , At this point I believe you have a reprint because they are much cheaper and more easier to get than the forgeries . There are very few of forgeries out there .
I have to go find my Austria collection to give you more info .
