If the vendor happened to include a private email with the shipment (some will send a business card or include a note), I would contact him directly and explain the situation, and suggest he send you a simple PayPal invoice for what you would owe him. Direct email is less cumbersome than the eBay message system.
If you don't have that information, contact him through the eBay message system and ask how he prefers to handle the situation. |

Rod,
If you can find another of his lots, you could contact him through that listing and ask for an email address so you can resolve this through non-eBay comms. Should be as simple as just PayPal-ing him the funds, but you'll need his email for that as well.
If you know he has some listings but can't find them, shoot me an email with what info you have and I'll see if I can help. |

Rod, Did you try and send him your email address through the eBay email system? Or the other way around? As far as I know, you cannot do this, according to current rules. They want to discourage off-eBay transactions. If you try to do it, that could be the reason you are not seeing his listings and not able to communicate with him through eBay. I used to send an image attached to the eBay message with an email address - but have been caught on that as well, with the same result. BTW, my purpose was not to conduct off-eBay business, it was just to chat about some stuff off eBay. Snail mail might be the only way... But for that, you need an address! John |

Rod,
If the vendor is a member of trade bodies, you should be able to contact him through one of them. |

This situation is one reason I like to send my business card with contact info to new customers - have had it happen a couple times where the item arrived after I refunded the customer, and they kindly informed me and paid. |

Quote: Snail mail might be the only way... But for that, you need an address! I have that, he sent a nice "application for positive feedback request" alas no email. I shall send him snail mail (Nice suggestion Greg, re the enclosed emails) Thanks everyone for trying to help. PS Bobby, sent an email to APS, but I doubt they will have the time to answer a piddling question of mine.
I have no idea abot "CS" or "CSS" |

I am surprised that more eBay sellers don't do something like this. It seems like it would be a good business practice. I have a few sellers who have included their business cards, or a note with a name, address, phone, and/or email, and if it is someone I have bought from more than once or twice, I'll add them to my contact lists, which is easier than keeping track of 50 or 100 business cards, or slips of paper. If they have sold me nice material that I would like to see more examples of, I'll often send them a polite note and tell them of my interests. It occasionally is productive. |

You can contact him through Ebay messaging, ask him to send you a Paypal Invoice. Even if he doesn't have your email he "might" be able to do this using your Ebay userid. If he can send you a Paypal Invoice you're all set.
