Sorry I deleted my post by mistake. The words are "Magyar Tanacs Kaztarsasag" (Republic of Councils in Hungary,or Hungarian Soviet Republic) |

Pshann, And more broadly than classic_paper's question. What is your method for ID'ing a stamp like this? What catalogs or internet resources are you using? |

Curios Thank you for your help. Replying to question If you look at the first post ( green stamp) the printing of the word "magyar" just didn't look right - as such I took a guess - it looked Russian to me ! My eyesight is woeful (especially at night) but I was comforted to see Rod222's final post. Maybe this green stamp was created in the 100 day period of the Hungarian Soviet Republic? I don't know but it is an interesting question if I'm right about the words on the green Magyar 5 Appreciate your help. |

This area of Hungarian Philately about the overprints is still uncertain even between the experts in Hungary . There has been a number of articles written about the semantics of these three categories : the occupation, these are local and are they the Successor State.
The two main catalogs from Hungary even today don't agree on the classfications . So we as overseas collectors will never to able to settle this issue |
