The Postmark on this antique Postcard is strange.... everything appears to be normal except the year. It shows 1161, but should be 1911 I'm guessing. How could this have happened? Anyone have something similar?

Human error. The 4 central lines in this cancel are printed from small blocks of type which can be easily inserted upside down (or in any order). Fairly common if one is looking for them.

Ok thanks John. I've never seen one before (or maybe never noticed it) and I have a rather large collection.

Inverted year dates are not that uncommon. Below has the "1918" inverted.
