No problem
I often have a scan or a picture that for some reason is over 1 mb.
I then resort to the free optimiser - which will reduce by 50 - 70 percent which still exceeds the 300kb
So, to proceed one is left with no choice but to manually adjust to get under 300kb
I know I need to find a better solution
Thanks again

Do you have a graphics program Pshann?

We may be able to help you to get good images that are within the size limits

Your scanner software will have image quality settings too I'm sure.

Pshann,

I sent you a message suggesting a site I use for many of my stamp images.
It is free, specialised in stamps and allows 3Mb JPG files. It also provides links, among which one with BBCode that allows to see the file you posted there. It is reliable and run by someone involved with another stamp community.

This is a link to one of my scans (Dutch stamps) that I found whilst not having access to my account details. If you click on it, you will get an enlargement.

Paul, you have a fabulous scanner !

I believe it has SEIKO software,

If it is like my Epson V370 Photo.
Try copying my settings and give a stamp a go

Do a "preview" which scans the platen
then draw a "carousel" (Marquee) around the stamp at 600dpi

You should have then a blindingly good image around 300Kb

Good luck

PS: "Blu tak" a sheet of black paper to the inside lid of the scanner

The back of a hagner sheet will work just as effectively!

For image editing/resizing etc. I've been using photofiltre for many years.

Usually great cachets, but this Kangaroo cover is not one of them in my opinion.
