Yep, they look different. The tower to the left as we look, the windows have moved. Must be a re-engraving or something. |

Same stamp design, two different colours of red ('shades').
Bottom stamp is much deeper, but windows are the same. |

Is one typography and the other recess-printed? SG141 (14-3-1932) line perf 11 recess and SG144 (1-6-1932) comb 10.5 typo.
The cachet suggests both are recess. |

Unless my eyesight is really really bad - I see a "3173" on the second stamp cancel. That's Victoria- if correct! |

It looks like the stamps are both cancelled by the same cachet, but turned ca. 90 degrees, as the one to the left of the stamps. The cancel on the stamps shows 'SIDNEY' upside down. It also looks like it was applied to both stamps at the same time. I can just see '29' but the remainder of the date is not legible. |

If you have a perforation gauge, measure the perforation. Both should be 11, rather than 10.5. |

I have no knowledge of Australian stamps. From an online resource - the one that may not be mentioned - the 10.5 is the typo one that was not issued until June. Maybe someone with a reliable Aussie catalogue has better information.
However, looking at the pictures of that unmentionable site, I was tempted to state they were the two varieties mentioned on the unmentionable site (catalogue numbers as given above). The issue with that is the date of 29 March 1932 in the cachet. It is earlier than the typo issue. |

Two completely different engravings. Look at the lines over the inscription.
So, either this site is wrong, or the cachet was applied at a later date. But all details coincide with the site's details: top one recess printed, bottom one typography. |
