Robson Lowe's Encyclopedia lists 14 March for the three recess denominations and the one typographed (2d) stamp.

9.5 million recess-printed 2d, line perf 11, no watermark, and 27.2 million typographed 2d, watermarked and comb perf 10.5.

RL also notes a postal forgery similar in appearance to the typographed stamp, line perf 11, no watermark.

ETA: clarified that recess printing appears in three denominations, while typographed appears only in the 2d value.

Interestingly, Five Reigns lists the typographed stamp as comb perf 10.5x11. A mistake, or differing "rounding" policies for listing of perfs?

(They list the color of the typographed 2d as "golden-scarlet.")

My apologies every-one, the stamp I referred to as a lithograph is actually a letter press.

That coincides with the typography that the SG Empire lists.

The bottom stamp can't be the postal forgery. Wrong perf, and none got into the wild with the forger (purposely) being arrested while trying to mail some.

The top stamp is the recess printed stamp - perf 11, single line, unwatermarked.

The bottom stamp is letterpress printed from an additional set of plates - perf 10.5, comb. It's on watermarked paper - Multiple Crown and C of A.

The ship in the image passing under the bridge is RMS "Orford" and was placed in the image to give perspective to the size of the SHB.

Both were issued on 14 March 1932 to coincide with the official opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge which occurred on 19 March 1932.

There were 9,749,680 copies of the 2d recess stamp printed and 27,280,616 of the 2d letterpress.

Presumably, the reason for the use of the letterpress technology was related to printing costs.
