Wards what? None of my sources list a place in Papua New Guinea whose name begins with Wards.
My thanks in advance to someone who can ID this place-of-cancel for me.

You need the second part of the ward name. A ward is the lowest administrative level but for the census unit.

I think the mark is Wards Strip which was an airfield originally built in WW2. It was not far from Port Morseby.

According to the listings on the Phoenix Auctions site, the postmark is Wards Strip, opened 1 December 1975
