You might make it more manageable by not posting too many at once but concentrate on one or two and add a post once the first have been identified or the answer does not come up after a few days.

Cancellations on German stamps are collected on cover {on the envelope } ,there is not enough to tell a story on a postage stamp . They have no value or interest to most people who are interested in that area .

I'm apparently doing it wrong. I don't mind collecting as much postal history as possible on the face of a stamp. Maybe a small piece. Definitely not boxes and boxes of covers, though. (I'll keep or buy covers that come my way and show extraordinary eye appeal, but I'm not seeking them out, generally speaking.)

Michel's introduction to Deutschland Spezial shows examples of how to evaluate the quality of cancels on stamps. No one will be surprised to hear that clear, well-centered cancels are the top choice.

Row 2, Stamp 3 is a variant of Bochmann MS113. Machine cancels like this that were used in many locations often had slight variations, like in this case, the length of the top line of text as compared to that shown in the catalog.

PostmasterGS, I thought Row 2, Stamp 1 would be one of the first to be identified, but it turns out to be the last one standing? (Discounting R2/4, which has so little to go on. (Partial credit for the perfin, though.))

The format of that one is unusual. I know I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.

They look like radio waves (Funkwellen). Could it be a telegraph office cancel?

I was trying to think of what that cancel reminded me of, and I couldn't come up with it, but then it struck me that I was thinking "Leipzig" and it clearly isn't that...so, I'm at a loss. Big help, I know.

Row 2, Stamp 1 — this cancel is from what was known as a Freimarkenstempler. It was a device used by senders to cancel their own stamps. About 1,600 of these machines were sold to businesses that sent a lot of mail, and the number (in this case, 293) was assigned to the business. I don't have a catalog/handbook of these cancel numbers, but I'll try to track one down.

Bochmann includes this note, but doesn't list them as they were private cancellations.

The machine could use stamps already on cover or a stamp cassette, using a roll of stamps, could be loaded into the machine so the stamp was placed and cancelled at the same time. Here is some additional info (in German) with lots of photos.
